PMDF seizes almost half a million in interstate smuggling in São Sebastião
PATAMO police officers seized several electronic objects in interstate smuggling at 1 a.m. on Monday (19).
The team was patrolling the highway when they approached a suspicious bus. When they searched the vehicle, they found some boxes and suitcases which the driver said were parcels and that the owner would not be on the bus. He also said that there was a document identifying the parcels, but that they were not accompanied by the respective invoices and that they had been shipped from the city of São Paulo to Piauí.
When the boxes and suitcases were opened, more than 100 cell phones were found, including Apple (iPhone) and Xiaomi (Redmi and Poco), 3 Xiaomi watches, 5 Ipads, 730 cell phone displays, accessories, bags, headbands, costume jewelry and women’s accessories.
The goods, valued at approximately BRL 457,000 reais, were seized and presented to the Federal Revenue Service for the appropriate measures.
