Federal Police and Customs Service Seize Illegal Medications in Rolândia, Paraná
On Wednesday (August 26), the Federal Police and the Customs Service seized a large quantity of foreign-sourced medications that were not registered with the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and lacked the required tax documentation during an operation conducted in the Rolândia region, in northern Paraná.
While on patrol, the teams identified a vehicle acting suspiciously and pulled it over. During the inspection, weight-loss medications were found hidden in a secret compartment inside the vehicle.
The driver was arrested on the spot and taken to the Federal Police Station in Londrina for the appropriate procedures.
The seized medications and the vehicle used in the transport were forwarded to the Federal Revenue Service for administrative action.
