Civil Police Operation Seizes 3 Tons of Counterfeit Goods

A Civil Police operation was carried out this Thursday (17) in Bragança Paulista, with the aim of combating the sale of counterfeit goods and protecting consumers from potential fraud.
Officers visited four locations in the downtown area and found various products being sold illegally:
Antônio Pires Pimentel Avenue
Atibaia Street
Itália Alley
Coronel Teófilo Leme Street
Among the seized goods were mainly sneakers, as well as T-shirts, pants, shorts, caps, and other items bearing fraudulent brand logos.
The operation was launched after a number of brands filed complaints with the Sectional Police Station, reporting that the locations were selling allegedly counterfeit products. Brand representatives were in Bragança Paulista on Thursday and accompanied the police during the searches, verifying the products.
Seizures During the Operation
According to a report from the Civil Police, approximately 3.5 metric tons of products were seized during the operation. Samples of the items will be sent to the Technical-Scientific Police, which will confirm whether they are counterfeit. Subsequently, the materials will be destroyed.
None of the owners of the four inspected stores were located. Only employees provided statements.
