DISE arrests two traders with hundreds of counterfeit drinks in downtown São José do Rio Pardo
The agents of the Drug Enforcement Investigation Department (DISE) from Casa Branca, headed by the police chief Dr. Wanderley Fernandes Martins Júnior, held on Monday (06) afternoon, an Operation called “Fake Drink”, aiming to combat the trade of counterfeit drinks in São José do Rio Pardo (SP).
During the operation, hundreds of bottles of fake drinks were seized (whiskey, vodka, gin and tequila) and two men (22 and 30) traders were arrested, owners of two wine cellars in the central region of the city.
The suspects confessed to have knowledge that the drinks were counterfeit and were arrested in the act.
Then the traders were sent to the headquarters of DISE in Casa Branca and later to the local Public Jail.
The two men will respond for the crime under Article 272, paragraph 1* of the Penal Code, which provides for a sentence of 04 to 08 years in prison.
