Federal Police Discovers Warehouse of Illegal Goods in São Paulo’s Historic Center
Among the items seized during Operation Dédalo are iPhones, Brazilian national soccer team shirts, and power tools
A Federal Police operation carried out on the morning of Wednesday, September 23, in the historic center of São Paulo, seized a large quantity of illegally imported goods, including iPhones, Brazilian national soccer team jerseys, and power tools.
The illegal goods were found in a 12-story building on Boa Vista Street, near Pateo do Colégio. According to the Federal Police, the property was being used for “the storage of foreign goods imported illegally.”
The investigation began after the Military Police responded to a call and identified, inside the building, imported goods lacking the corresponding tax documentation. This led to the launch of Operation Dédalo, which culminated in Wednesday’s major seizure.
The operation was supported by the Federal Revenue Service, through DIREP—which is responsible for tax and customs procedures—and the São Paulo Military Police (PM/SP), through CPA/M-1, which was responsible for policing and securing the building during the operation.
