Atibaia city authorities to receive training on combating counterfeit alcoholic beverages
The training will take place on Friday (25) and will bring together enforcement agents, Public Health Surveillance officials, and law enforcement officers
Next Friday (the 25th), Atibaia will host a training session focused on identifying counterfeit, adulterated, and illegally sourced beverages. The training will also cover ways to prevent and combat the illegal sale of these products.
The event comes amid concerns over cases of methanol poisoning linked to the consumption of adulterated beverages reported across the country.
WHO WILL PARTICIPATE
The training is intended for professionals directly involved in the city’s enforcement and security efforts, including Public Health Surveillance, commercial inspection, the Municipal Civil Guard, and representatives from the Civil, Military, State Highway, and Federal Police.
WHAT WILL BE COVERED
During the training, participants will learn to recognize signs that may indicate counterfeit or adulterated beverages, as well as identify products without proper documentation and situations related to illegal trade.
The health risks posed by adulterated beverages will also be discussed, particularly those caused by the presence of toxic substances such as methanol.
The training will be led by Gabriel Leôncio Lima, a fraud prevention specialist and member of the Brazilian Beverage Association (ABRABE).
It is expected that the knowledge gained will help agents identify irregularities more quickly during inspections and help reduce risks to the public.
