Police Shut Down Illegal Counterfeit Clothing Factory in Baixada Fluminense
The operation seized machinery, raw materials, labels, and a large quantity of counterfeit items produced illegally
The Civil Police dismantled an illegal factory manufacturing and selling counterfeit clothing during an operation carried out by agents from the DRCPIM (Department for the Suppression of Crimes Against Intellectual Property) in the Baixada Fluminense region.
During the operation, police officers located a property used to produce items that illegally replicated well-known brands on the market.
At the site, large quantities of counterfeit clothing, labels, raw materials, sewing machines, and other equipment used in the manufacture of the goods were seized.
According to the Civil Police, the operation represents yet another blow against piracy and crimes against intellectual property—practices that cause economic losses, harm consumers, damage legally established companies, and strengthen the activities of criminal organizations.
Investigations are ongoing to identify others involved in the production and distribution chain of the counterfeit products, as well as to hold all participants in the scheme criminally liable.
