Federal Highway Police Seize Anabolic Steroids, Weight-Loss Pens and a Shipment of Cigarettes

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) carried out two separate seizures on Tuesday, the 21st, in Chapecó, involving medications of illegal origin and contraband cigarettes.

In the first incident, around 6:50 a.m. at km 125 of BR-480, officers stopped a bus operated by the company Ouro e Prata, which was traveling the Santarém (PA)–Porto Alegre (RS) route. During an inspection of the luggage compartment, a package identified as a “skin care kit” caught the team’s attention.

Upon checking the contents, the officers found two slimming pen applicators, 24 vials of Retatrutide, eight vials of Tirzepatide, 400 tablets of Metandrostenolone, and 13 bottles of anabolic steroids.

All the materials were seized and forwarded to the Federal Revenue Service in Chapecó.

In the second incident, at 9:00 a.m. at km 542 of BR-282, the PRF pulled over a car that was traveling at high speed. During the search, officers found boxes of cigarettes hidden under floor mats in the back seat and additional packages in the trunk.

The occupants stated that they had picked up the cargo in Dionísio Cerqueira and that their destination was the municipality of Nonoai (RS). According to them, the cigarettes were purchased for R$12,900 and were to be resold for R$15,500.

The inspection found 11 boxes, totaling 5,500 packs of foreign-made cigarettes. The two individuals involved were arrested on charges of smuggling and were taken, along with the cargo and the vehicle to the Federal Police Station in Chapecó.
