Cosmetics distributor shut down and 1,600 counterfeit perfumes seized in Goiânia
More than 120 perfumes from international brands, but without receipts and unregistered Anvisa labels, were seized.

A cosmetics distributor in Parque Anhanguera, Goiânia, was hospitalized and more than 1,600 perfumes were seized during an operation by Procon Goiás on Tuesday (25). The action, which was supported by the Civil Police and the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), was carried out after reports of possible irregular trade.
During the inspection, teams found more than 120 perfumes with international brands on their labels, but without receipts proving their purchase. According to Procon, the lack of documentation is a strong indication of counterfeiting. Approximately 1,520 bottles of counterfeit perfumes, those produced as imitations of well-known fragrances, were also seized.
The registration numbers of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) printed on the packaging were checked and were not found in the official databases, raising suspicion of the use of false information. Based on the Consumer Protection Code, which considers counterfeit products unfit for consumption and prohibits the sale of items that do not comply with regulatory standards, all products were seized.
In view of the irregularities, the establishment was closed and may be reopened after a formal request from the company, accompanied by documents proving the regularity of the products, and after a new inspection.
The superintendent of Procon Goiás, Marco Palmerston, warns that counterfeit perfumes can pose health risks. He advises consumers to buy products only from reliable stores and websites, demand receipts, and be wary of prices that are well below market value. Palmerston points out that poorly finished packaging, spelling mistakes, and differences in color and scent are signs of counterfeiting.
“If an imported perfume that costs an average of R$ 800 is being sold for R$ 300, for example, consumers should be suspicious,” he emphasizes.
Consumers who suspect irregular products can report them to Procon Goiás by calling 151 (Goiânia), (62) 3201-7124 (interior), or through the Portal Expresso.
