Procon in Balneário Camboriú prepares for anti-piracy operations
Introduction Consumer protection in Balneário Camboriú is about to reach a new level of rigor. In fact, Procon BC actively participated in an operation against counterfeit products in Jaraguá do Sul on Wednesday (28). In this sense, the main objective of the visit was to conduct an on-site case study to replicate inspection and seizure strategies in our municipality.

1. The Operation in Jaraguá do Sul
Firstly, the operation focused on goods suspected of being counterfeit and smuggled. During the inspection, the authorities identified a large quantity of footwear and clothing with clear signs of illegal origin. In addition, the operation served to align the legal referral procedures for these cases. Thus, the practical experience allowed for observation of the real challenges faced by inspectors in the field.
2. Case Study and Strategy for Balneário Camboriú
On the other hand, the presence of the director of Procon BC, Bruno Costa, reinforces the city’s commitment to commercial legality. Given that Balneário Camboriú is a prominent tourist and commercial hub, organizing operations of this nature is essential to protect both consumers and honest retailers. Therefore, the exchange of knowledge between agencies was the cornerstone of this initiative, combining the expertise of BC with the methods applied in Jaraguá do Sul.
