Operation in Chapecó charges 16 people for selling counterfeit sports products

In a joint effort to combat piracy in sports, the Chapecó Civil Police launched an operation at noon on Wednesday (04) against the misuse of official symbols and trademarks of soccer clubs.

With the support of the Municipal Guard and Military Police, the offensive continued enforcement efforts that began in late 2025, based on the General Sports Law, which provides for imprisonment of two to four years for those who sell counterfeit products.

To date, the task force has seized more than 1,500 items, most of which are Chapecoense shirts without official licensing, and has resulted in the prosecution of 16 adults, in addition to the apprehension of one teenager.

The Civil Police warns that selling or stockpiling these products is a crime punishable by imprisonment and reinforces that enforcement, coordinated by Difron through the “Protetores” task force, will continue indefinitely.

Reports can be made anonymously via the Civil Police website or by calling 181.
