Enforcement activities – Joint operation seizes R$ 300,000 in smuggled goods
An integrated operation carried out by the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Police on Wednesday, September 3, seized approximately R$ 300,000 in smuggled goods from Paraguay in Presidente Epitácio, in the interior of São Paulo.
The operation was carried out on a single target previously identified by the Federal Revenue Service’s intelligence department in Campo Grande, whose investigation pointed to heavy use of transport logistics on the highways of Mato Grosso do Sul.
Among the seized goods are electronic goods, computer products, perfumes, beverages, among others.
The products will be sent to the Federal Revenue Service’s seized goods warehouse in Campo Grande, where the forfeiture process will be carried out. Once the illegality has been confirmed, the goods may be auctioned, incorporated into the assets of public institutions, or donated to social assistance entities. This promotes the conversion of the proceeds of crime into resources that serve the public interest and contribute to the common good.
Ao retirar produtos irregulares de circulação, a Receita Federal protege a indústria nacional, combate a concorrência desleal e reforça a segurança da população.
