Police seize hundreds of counterfeit perfumes in Cascadura
On Tuesday (January 14), police from the Police Station for the Repression of Crimes Against Intangible Property (DRCPIM) carried out an operation in Cascadura, in the North Zone, following complaints about the sale of counterfeit perfumes. According to the Civil Police, hundreds of products were seized that counterfeited brands such as Chanel, Dior, Carolina Herrera, Lancôme, among others.
Also according to the institution, some of the products had declared values of more than R$500, if they were original. A man was taken to the police station and will be charged with a crime against immaterial property and a crime against consumer relations.
The Civil Police point out that counterfeit products, as well as posing a threat to health, can have unknown or harmful compositions, increasing the risks for consumers.
The seized perfumes were sent for technical expertise. The police ask that reports of counterfeit products can be made via WhatsApp at (21) 98197-0930, with confidentiality guaranteed.
