PRF seizes almost 2,500 irregular goods in Valença do Piauí
On Tuesday (07), the Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized irregular goods without invoices on the BR-316 highway, in the municipality of Valença, 100 km from Picos. The operation seized 1,458 pairs of shoes, 976 items of clothing and two women’s handbags.
According to information from the PRF, the goods were being transported in a pick-up truck in which there were two people (driver and passenger).
“The individuals were transporting numerous pieces of footwear and clothing both inside the vehicle and in the body. When they were questioned about the invoice, they said they didn’t have it. On consulting the PRF system, it was found that one of those involved had already been framed for the same illegal situation in 2022,” said the PRF.
Questioned about the origin of the goods, the suspects said they were transporting shoes from Crato-CE to various cities, with a final destination in Santa Inês, in Maranhão and nearby.
In view of the information obtained, it was initially found that they were transporting national goods without an invoice. SEFAZ-PI was also called in for the appropriate procedures.
