Federal Revenue seizes BRL 600,000 in goods in Pará de Minas

During an operation carried out on Tuesday (23/07), the Federal Revenue seized electronics and perfumes worth BRL 600,000 in Pará de Minas, in the Midwest of Minas Gerais.

Details of the operation

Four establishments specializing in the sale of electronics were inspected by the Federal Revenue’s Division for Repression of Smuggling and Embezzlement (DIREP). The companies, which promoted foreign products on social networks, had approximately 40 volumes of goods detained. In one of the locations, cell phones were found hidden in drawers with false bottoms.

Regularization

Those responsible for the establishments have the opportunity to present invoices proving that the imports were regular. Otherwise, they will face charges of embezzlement, characterized by importing without paying taxes.

The Federal Revenue pointed out that tax evasion harms fair competition and affects local businesses and consumers. “The Federal Revenue aims to protect regular trade, the economy and the health of Brazilians against illegal practices that compromise development and the common good,” it said.
