The agents were investigating an illegal factory that was used to produce and store perfumes. Yesterday, the teams went to the address and found the factory in operation. There were people there who had been hired by the owner of the house to help produce the products.

There were various chemical substances in barrels, as well as machines with hoses for filling the liquid into perfume containers.

As soon as the inspection began, several chemical products were found in barrels, as well as machines with hoses to fill the liquids into perfume containers.

In the rooms, the police also found around 1,500 empty bottles of creams and international brand labels. More than 2,200 products ready for illegal sale were confiscated at the scene.

The case was registered at Carapicuíba Police Station as product tampering and location/seizure of objects. The seven employees who were there at the time of the incident were sent to give evidence. An inquiry has been launched and investigations are continuing to locate those responsible for the criminal scheme.

On the 4th of last month, the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) also closed down a factory in Mogi das Cruzes and identified three other locations that were used as warehouses for illegal perfume factories in the north and east of São Paulo.

The investigations were carried out by police from the 1st General Investigations Police Station (DIG), who discovered the scheme and arrested four people, suspected of cloning packaging from international perfume brands and selling the counterfeit product.

In all, almost 97,000 cosmetics were recalled. In the north of the city, at another location used by the gang, more than a thousand bottles of counterfeit perfumes were collected. The suspects face charges of criminal association and crimes against public health and industrial property.
