Counterfeit goods worth more than BRL 500,000 seized in Piraí
Around 3,000 products, including trainers and shirts, with signs of counterfeiting were seized on Monday night (27) in Piraí (RJ). According to the State Highway Police, the goods are worth more than BRL 500,000.
The products were being transported in a car, which was approached by police officers on the RJ-145 during a routine check in front of the Rosa Machado neighbourhood post.
According to the State Highway Police, the goods had left Brás, in São Paulo (SP), and were being taken to be resold in a street market in Nova Iguaçu, in the Baixada Fluminense.
The driver was taken to the Federal Police station in Volta Redonda and released after making a statement. The PF said that the merchandise will be analysed to confirm or not the suspicion of counterfeiting.
