RFB seizes around BRL 30,000 worth of Argentinian wine from carriers in Rio de Janeiro
The Federal Revenue seized today (25/7) 134 bottles of Argentine wine from two carriers, one in Duque de Caxias and the other in Del Castilho, both in Rio de Janeiro.
The goods entered the country irregularly as a result of smuggling, that is, fraud in the payment of tax due to the entry, exit or consumption of goods not prohibited in the country. Some items even have signs of counterfeiting.
The bottles came from Paraná and were destined for Rio de Janeiro. The seizure has an approximate value of BRL 30 thousand.
The work was carried out by the Division of Surveillance and Repression of Smuggling and Embezzlement of the Federal Revenue in the 7th Fiscal Region (RJ/ES) with the collaboration of the Division of Surveillance and Repression of Smuggling and Embezzlement of the Federal Revenue Service in the 9th Fiscal Region (SC/PR).
The Federal Revenue Service inhibits the practice of crimes that generate unemployment, tax evasion and unfair competition to regularly established industry and commerce, collaborating with public security agencies in order to guarantee the safety of society with regard to the protection of life.
