PRF seizes 150,000 packets of smuggled cigarettes in Araxá (MG)
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized a Renault/Master loaded with cigarettes, during an operation to combat crime, this Thursday morning (13). In all, 150,000 packets of smuggled cigarettes were seized at Km 679 of BR 262, in Araxá (MG).
During the inspection, the police located 150,000 packets of cigarettes without tax proof. If commercialised, the cargo could yield more than BRL 500,000 to traffickers.
In view of the facts and considering the probable occurrence of the crime of smuggling, a voice of arrest was given to the person involved who was informed of his constitutional rights and taken unharmed to the Judicial Police in Araxá (MG). The cigarette load was forwarded to the Araxá Forum.
