In a hotel, Federal Revenue Office seizes BRL 1 million in undocumented goods brought from Bolivia

During an operation conducted by the Federal Revenue Office, several types of goods were seized, valued at BRL 1 million, without fiscal document in a hotel in Corumbá, a city 426 km from Campo Grande.

It was found that the products, mostly clothing and food were brought from Bolivia without any documentation. The Health Surveillance was called.

The action occurred on Thursday (30) with the participation of Customs servers and the Regional Group of Surveillance and Repression of the 1st Fiscal Region of the Federal Revenue Office, according to the website Diário Corumbaense.

According to the Federal Revenue Office, the border with Corumbá is one of the main entries of irregular clothing, characterizing smuggling, embezzlement and counterfeiting. In addition to meeting local demand, these garments supply several regions of the country, generating losses of billions of reais per year with tax evasion and unfair competition, and often finance organized crime.
