Police shut down counterfeit beer factory

A factory of counterfeit beer was closed by the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) last Thursday (30).

The distributor is investigated suspected of adulterating more than 5.2 thousand cans of the drink and selling it in the federal capital.

According to the police, the company removed the original expiry date of the containers.

In the sequence, it exchanged the contents of bottles sold at higher prices for the liquid of less famous brands.

Arrest

The manager of the establishment was arrested in the act.

He will be investigated for keeping in storage expired products and selling goods in conditions unfit for consumption.

Located on the edge of DF-220, the factory had 15 employees, who were also taken to the Brazlândia Police Station.

Change of business

The police found out that the place was operating with the labelling of mineral water bottles.

However, in the last few months it started to adulterate the cans of beer that had expired, erasing the expiry date and then reselling the drink.

This type of crime is punishable by 2 to 5 years in prison.
