Internal Revenue Service seizes 18 tons of counterfeit products in the Port of Itajaí / SC

The Customs of the Internal Revenue Service of the Port of Itajaí / SC carried out a seizure of a container with approximately 18 tons of counterfeit products from well-known brands such as Rayban, Chili Beans, HB, Lacoste, Nike, Adidas and Calvin Klein, on May 23.The products came from China and were seized in the primary zone of the Customs jurisdiction. Toys, sunglasses, sneakers and clothes were among the products seized.

The false declaration of content was detected by the Port of Itajaí Customs Risk Analysis team in conjunction with the Repression Division of the 9th Tax area during a merchandise check. The cargo was declared by the importer as salt. The products were evaluated in more than two million dollars, and, after the proceedings, the goods will be sent to destruction.
