DRCPIM RJ carries out operation and seizes products at Feira de Malhas in Duque de Caxias RJ
The team of the Police Station for the Repression of Crimes Against Immaterial Property /DRCPIM RJ, led by Valéria Aragão, the Chief of Police of this specialized agency, who has performed an excellent job fighting against counterfeiting in Rio de Janeiro, carried out on July 20th and 22nd, another big operation to fight counterfeiting at the main markets of cotton clothing in Duque de Caxias, in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
During the operation, the police officers inspected more than 70 different stores and thousands of counterfeit products were seized. Among other products, the repression team found several clothing items in general such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, pants, tennis shoes and hats.
The agency is counting the goods, which later will possibly be sent to an expert to examine if the products are counterfeit, smuggled or stolen. After a judge´s decision, the merchandise could be sent for destruction.
The main location searched included the Feirão Moda Rio, the Feirão das Malhas and the Atacadão das malhas.
