The IRS operation called “Gol 14” involved six Latin American countries and nine Brazilian ports
The operation “Gol 14”, held by the IRS, seized at Brazilian ports 718.374 items and 2 tons of smuggled fabric. The aim of the operation is to intensify the fight against counterfeiting of sporting goods, during the preparations to the World Cup of 2014.

round Brazil 224 containers were inspected, and 24 were identified with counterfeit goods. The operation also counted with the participation of other six Latin American countries: Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Paraguay and Panamá.
The operation held between March 19th and April 17th counted with the participation of the IRS in nine ports of the country: Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Itajaí, Manaus, Paranaguá, Rio Grande, Suape and Vitória.
The main involved brands were Adidas, Nike and Fifa but there were also seized Disney, Gucci, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Havaianas, Louis Vuiton and Lego counterfeit products.
