PROCON inspectors from Tubarão participate in training on product counterfeiting in Florianópolis

Between November 10 and 13, PROCON inspectors from Tubarão will participate in the event “PROCON/SC Capacita: Por Trás do Rótulo” (PROCON/SC Training: Behind the Label), promoted by PROCON of Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis.
The meeting brings together representatives from various municipalities in Santa Catarina and focuses on combating product counterfeiting, especially in the distilled beverages and clothing sectors.
Improvement and exchange of experiences
The purpose of the event is to train municipal inspectors to improve their performance in inspecting and combating piracy, promoting the exchange of experiences and alignment of practices among consumer protection agencies.
During the four days, participants will have access to lectures and practical activities.
The first day will focus on beverage counterfeiting, the second on the clothing sector, the third will take place at the Civil Police Academy, and the fourth day will feature external training at a location yet to be announced.
“Continuous training of inspectors is essential to ensure more efficient and qualified enforcement. Investing in training is investing in consumer protection and the protection of the legal market,” said Daniel Machado, manager of PROCON in Tubarão.
Integration between agencies and combating piracy
The event will be attended by representatives from the Civil Police, Scientific Police, PROCON/SC, and the State Council for Combating Piracy (Cecop), who will present methods and experiences in combating counterfeiting.
At the end of the program, the State Secretariats of Finance (SEF) and the Environment and Green Economy (IMA) will also participate in the debates.
The training is aimed at municipal Procons, suppliers, and entrepreneurs in the beverage and clothing sectors, seeking to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors in combating the sale of irregular products.
