Police seize 90,000 counterfeit slimming pens

The action arrests the person responsible for an illegal compounding pharmacy.

Santo André, São Paulo – The Civil Police seized 90,000 counterfeit weight loss pens on Thursday (19). A 26-year-old man was arrested in the act. He was responsible for a compounding pharmacy that illegally produced the substance sold as a weight loss remedy.

According to the police, there was a stock of irregularly compounded medicines at the site. Expired substances and products without a prescription were also found. The person responsible for the establishment was arrested at the time of the operation. The police reported that he was in charge of the production and sale of the counterfeit material.

The case was registered at the Environmental Investigation Police Station as counterfeiting, corruption, adulteration, or alteration of therapeutic or medicinal products.
