PMRv seizes goods worth BRL 40 thousand
A case of smuggling was recorded on Wednesday (12), at 4:45 p.m., on the SC 480 highway, inside the municipality of Ipuaçu, in western Santa Catarina. At the scene, a garrison from the State Highway Military Police (PMRv) was carrying out a traffic inspection operation when it approached a Renault/Clio vehicle.
The police spotted two suitcases and several black plastic bags inside the trunk of the car, containing a total of 64 boxes of electronic cigarettes, totaling 440 units, which were coming from Paraguay.
The driver of the car was a 29-year-old man. The merchandise is prohibited in Brazil. Eight boxes of essence for such equipment were also found.
The goods, valued at BRL 40,000, were seized along with the vehicle and sent to the Federal Revenue Service in Brazil.
