OPERATION SUPPORTED BY BPG: City Hall, Civil Guards and association seize counterfeit products durin

Agents of Regional City Hall of Sé, the Metropolitan Civil Guard and the Association of Brands made on Thursday (22) an operation against piracy in São Paulo. The chosen venue was Boulevard Monte Mare, which is located ot Avenida Paulista, near the Brigadeiro subway station.

Timepieces, purses and clothes have been seized, which, although counterfeited, were expensive. According to lawyer Rodrigo Gianni, who provides services to the association, the value of the products is about R$ 2 million.

After an operation, salers need to submit invoices to have the products back, as this is unlikely, so the penalty fits into the administrative scope of end of the license. The regional mayor, Eduardo Odloak, explained that this is a constant fight, since the street vendors can appeal and generally they open another store with another CNPJ and everything restarts.

According to a survey conducted by FNCP, Brazil loses $ 130 billion a year in piracy, smuggling and illegal trade.
