More 2,300 items without tax invoice are seized in clandestine warehouse in Juiz de Fora
An inspection action carried out on Wednesday (19) resulted in the seizure of 2,304 items that would be marketed irregularly on the streets of Juiz de Fora. The materials were in a clandestine warehouse located on Rua Cesário Alvim.
Among the goods seized are electronic devices, mobile phone accessories and prescription glasses, all without invoices. Market trolleys, tents, stalls, crates, tarpaulins, easels and hoops were also found that were used in irregular trade.
According to the Secretariat of Sustainability in Environment and Urban Activities (Sesmaur), the goods were supplied to workers who work in precarious conditions in the city centre. The person responsible for the warehouse was fined BRL 6 thousand.
The operation aims to combat irregular trade and especially schemes to exploit the labour of people in situations of social vulnerability. In addition, there is concern about the condition of the products marketed, which can put the consumer at risk.
In the action participated agents of the Municipal Guard and inspectors of postures of Sesmaur, with the support of the Military Police (PM).
