Inspection: DF Revenue seizes R$3.8 million in irregular cargo

An operation by the Federal District Revenue Service on BR-020 and BR-060 seized around R$3.8 million in irregular products this weekend. It is estimated that the items amount to approximately R$1.6 million in taxes owed.

On the BR-020 highway, the teams intercepted a truck carrying 11.8 tons of tobacco, whose tax receipt didn’t match the cargo. The estimated value of the cargo is R$1.2 million, with a tax credit of R$747.7 thousand.

Hours later, another truck was caught transporting 24,000 pairs of shoes, cosmetics and electronics with divergent documentation. The items totaled R$1.7 million and taxes of R$439.7 thousand.

On the BR-060 highway, the inspection identified tax inconsistencies in a truck carrying 2,192 automotive batteries. The merchandise was valued at R$611,200, with R$248,200 in unpaid taxes.

Other trucks were stopped carrying mattresses, food and construction material with false documents. The value of the loads was R$118,600, and the owners will have to pay R$57,900 in taxes.

The RDF operation also carried out inspections at transport companies, where merchandise such as pediatric scales, footwear, clothing, food supplements and electronics were seized, all with irregular documentation. The estimated tax base for these assessments was R$250,000, with a tax credit of R$110,000.
