Federal Revenue seizes goods worth an estimated BRL 75,000 and a Jeep Compass vehicle in Santa Catarina
The Federal Revenue Service, through the DRF/Blumenau Surveillance and Repression Team, carried out an inspection operation at a convenience store and tobacco shop in Blumenau on the morning of Thursday 24th. A number of alcoholic beverages of foreign origin without regular importation were found, as well as electronic cigarettes and tobacco cigarettes whose importation is prohibited.
At the scene, it was discovered that a vehicle belonging to the company was being used to hide the electronic cigarettes destined for commercialisation. Twelve boxes of goods were seized, with an estimated value of BRL 75,000. The Jeep Compass vehicle was also detained and will be the subject of an infraction notice.
The owner was caught red-handed for smuggling, sent to the Federal Police in Itajaí and then to prison. The goods and the vehicle remain in the custody of the Federal Revenue Service.
