Enforcement activities – Police seize wines illegally imported from Argentina in Lages
The Military Police, with support from the Intelligence Agency, stopped a suspicious vehicle on the BR-282 highway in Lages, which was allegedly transporting contraband or smuggled goods.
During the vehicle search, several boxes containing bottles of imported wine were found without the proper invoice. In total, more than 320 bottles of different brands were seized.
The driver of the vehicle stated only that he was transporting the cargo and that its destination was the Greater Florianópolis area.
The man and the products were initially taken to the Federal Police, and later transferred to the 6th Military Police Battalion, where the cargo was registered and accounted for, with the seized material remaining at the disposal of the Federal Revenue Service.
