Enforcement activities – Joint operation by the PMPR and Federal Revenue Service seizes smuggled goods in Realeza
On Tuesday afternoon, September 16th, at around 12:15 p.m., a joint operation between the Paraná Military Police and the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service resulted in the seizure of a shipment of foreign goods on the Marmelândia Line, in the rural area of the municipality of Realeza.
During the operation, a gray VW Polo vehicle occupied by three passengers was stopped. Upon inspecting the vehicle, agents found several imported products in the trunk without the proper legal documentation for entry into the country, including cell phones, computer equipment, beverages, and perfumes.
The cargo characterizes, in theory, the crime of smuggling. Given this, the occupants of the vehicle were taken to the Military Police Platoon, along with the car and the seized items, for the preparation of the relevant documentation.
The materials will then be forwarded to the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service in the municipality of Capanema for the appropriate legal procedures.
