Enforcement activities – Federal Revenue Service seizes three tons of clothes being transported in a van
In a routine operation carried out on Tuesday morning (13/05), the Surveillance and Repression team from the Federal Revenue Office in Guaíra seized a large load of irregular goods, including three tons of clothes, 950 packs of cigarettes, 200 kg of watches and 50 kg of glasses, with an estimated value of R$350,000.
The action began with the covert tracking of a van traveling from Mato Grosso do Sul towards Paraná. The vehicle was approached next to an establishment known as the Guaíra Box, which is used as a depot for unrouted and smuggled goods.
During the vehicle inspection, the officers found bundles of clothes, cigarettes, glasses and watches. In view of the suspicions, they began checking the surrounding boxes, where they found several more packages of illegal goods.
The vehicle and all the items seized were sent to the Federal Revenue Office in Guaíra, where the appropriate legal measures will be taken. The Federal Revenue Service reinforces its commitment to combating smuggling, embezzlement and the entry of illegal products into the country, protecting the national economy and fair trade.
