Enforcement activities – DIG seizes 10,000 counterfeit perfumes in a store in Brás and a warehouse in Guarulhos (SP)
On Thursday morning (26), the General Investigations Police Station (DIG), through the 1st Police Station of the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), seized 10,000 bottles of counterfeit perfumes in an operation against crimes against industrial property, carried out in the East Zone of the capital and in Guarulhos (SP).
The investigation, conducted by the team specialized in combating piracy, initially targeted a store located on Silvio Penteado Street, in the Brás district. Several bottles of counterfeit perfumes imitating major international brands were found there. The sales took place both in the physical store and on the internet.
In the second phase of the operation, the police found a clandestine warehouse in the Jardim Santa Francisca district of Guarulhos, which was acting as a distribution center for the illegal products. The place stored a large number of bottles and packages with the logos of counterfeit brands.
Two people responsible for the scheme have been identified and will be charged with crimes against industrial property. All the material seized will be sent to forensics for technical analysis.
