Customs seizes about R$ 100 million in goods in the RJ Port.
Customs has seized, on this Wednesday, about one thousand tons of goods, mainly toys, unfit for consumption and use, in the Port of Itaguaí, in Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area. The seizure is being considered the largest from the last 5 years in the region. There are 60 containers estimated at R$ 100 million.
The load, according to the Revenue, came from China. The seizure was the result of coordinated actions that, in addition to this, seized another cargo in Paranaguá.
In addition to the toys, which are not certified by Inmetro, electronic products with strong evidences of forgery have also been found. The Custom of Itaguaí Port believes that more containers in the same situation can be found.
The operation was the work result of the intelligence and customs risk management area of the Federal Revenue. The customs units are carrying out investigations with the companies and their partners, while the cargos are kept in the primary area, awaiting the investigation.
