Federal Revenue seized R$107 million in irregular goods in Minas Gerais in 2024
The actions were carried out at ports, airports, highways, distribution centers, marketplaces, carriers, clandestine warehouses and shopping centers.
In 2024, the Federal Revenue Service seized R$107 million in irregular foreign goods in Minas Gerais. The amount is the result of operations such as Atacado Central, Guardião, Paránomos, Open Bar, Sinal de Fumaça, Black Friday and Retina II, aimed at combating smuggling and illegal imports.
The actions were carried out at ports, airports, highways, distribution centers, marketplaces, carriers, clandestine warehouses and shopping centers.
The aim is to protect the national industry, prevent unfair competition and curb tax evasion.
Most seized products
- Cigarettes: R$ 48 million
- Telephones: R$9 million
- Vehicles: R$8.9 million
- Electronics: R$8.4 million
- Computer equipment: R$2.4 million
- Clothing and footwear: R$2.2 million
Destination of the goods
After the legal procedures, the seized goods were destined in a sustainable way, benefiting public bodies and vulnerable communities.
In 2024, more than R$133 million in goods were incorporated or donated, in line with the Citizen Revenue Program, which promotes social responsibility and sustainability.
Destination highlights:
- 135.6 tons of tobacco turned into compost.
- 575 kg of counterfeit clothing de-characterized and donated.
- 14.2 tons of counterfeit footwear destined for vulnerable populations.
- 1,295 pirate TV Boxes adapted for use as minicomputers.
- 3,873 liters of alcoholic drinks turned into jam.
- 32.1 tons of recycled plastic packaging.
