Operation Mobile finds more than BRL 50 thousand in goods without origin in trade of Bento Gonçalves
In another phase of Operation Mobile in Bento Gonçalves, a man was arrested on Tuesday morning (25) with several smuggled products. In all, the criminal had stolen a total equivalent to BRL 50 thousand.
Operation Mobile was developed in a joint action of Civil Police, Federal Highway Police, Military Firefighters, City Hall and Municipal Civil Guard. The objective was to combat crimes of robbery, theft and receiving mobile phones, as well as the commercialisation of these products.
In the morning, the teams inspected several commercial establishments. During the work, in the Cidade Alta neighbourhood, they saw a man on a motorbike in a suspicious attitude: he was speeding, leaving a business, across the street. The man, the owner of the commercial establishment, closed the shop quickly and generated even more suspicion.
In a search of the place, the officers of Operation Mobile found the crime of smuggling and irregular possession of a firearm. Also on site were seized dozens of alcoholic beverages without origin and various electronic devices. The goods came from Paraguay and were valued at BRL 50 thousand characterising the smuggling.
The owner was taken to the Police Station for registration. The seized products were taken in a lorry to the Federal Highway Police (PRF) station and then to the Federal Revenue Service in Caxias do Sul.
