Federal Revenue Office seizes 140 litres of foreign beverages
In this Tuesday (14) morning, the Federal Revenue Office in Pelotas intercepted a vehicle that was traveling on BR116, towards Jaguarão-Pelotas. In the approach it was found the presence of approximately 140 bottles of spirits of foreign origin, which were unaccompanied by documentation proving the import.
After formalising the customs procedures provided for in the legislation, the drinks were seized and the travellers released to continue their journey.
The Federal Revenue Office has the mission to control the flow of goods in foreign trade, protecting the domestic industry and regularly installed trade. Unfair competition, in turn, can cause the closure of establishments and jobs in the municipality, the state and the country.
