Man was arrested with R$ 2 million of counterfeit products in Baixada Fluminense
The truck driver was carrying 4 tons of footwear and is part of a gang of counterfeiters of Minas Gerais, according to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro.
The truck driver Gerson Gomes da Silva, 40, was arrested on Saturday morning while carrying counterfeit goods valued at R$ 2 million on the Washington Luís Highway in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense.
According to the Civil Police, he is part of a gang of counterfeiters based in Nova Serrana, Minas Gerais. The group produces sneakers, shoes and slippers and distributes to other states.
The seized truck had almost four tons of products and would supply the illegal trade in the Baixada Fluminense.
