Prefecture seizes 32 thousand of counterfeited products in Shopping Malls downtown

The Shopping 25 Brás and Shopping 25 de Março were inspected by the Safety Cabinet.

This Friday (Aug. 3rd) 20.800 illegal products were seized, mainly counterfeited clothes and purses in stores of the Shopping 25 Brás.

Five stores were interdicted by Mooca Subprefecture and others can be interdicted after notifications and assessments. The stores holders were identified and they may answer for copyright infringement, piracy, crimes against consumers, tax evasion, among others, aggravated by the successive recidivism.

The shopping mall holders can also be accountable for many illicit acts, especially facing the recidivism in the piracy trade and other crimes.

The Shopping 25 Brás is being monitored by intelligence teams since one big operation that happened from April to June of this year. In that occasion the agents seized around one million products and the inquiry is still in progress.

Agents from the Safety Cabinet inspected this Thursday (Aug. 8th), stores in the Shopping 25 de Março. In this action 11.907 illegal products were seized, mostly watches, tennis shoes, bags and apparel.

One store was interdict by Sé Subprecture and the others can also be interdicted after notifications and assessments. The store holder and shopping mall holders can also be accountable for many illicit acts, especially facing the recidivism in the piracy trade and other crimes.

During the operation a civil policeman that was in the place tried to impede the seizures and he was conducted to the Civil Police Internal Affairs, where these facts are being cleared.
