In the early hours of Sunday morning (26), at around 4am, an action by the Special Border Group (GEFRON) resulted in the seizure of approximately 100 kilos of t-shirts smuggled from Bolivia, during Operation Border and Border Protector, in Porto Esperidião MT.
The raid took place during a police roadblock in the municipality’s urban area, where a silver Toyota Caldina vehicle of Bolivian origin was intercepted. Inside the car, the agents found three large bales and four bags containing T-shirts, which had no proof of regular importation.
Detained and damage to organized crime
In the vehicle were three people, one woman and two men, with criminal records for smuggling and embezzlement. The material seized was valued at R$30,000.00, representing a major blow to cross-border crime.
The products were sent to the Federal Revenue Service in Cáceres, MT, where the appropriate measures will be taken.
GEFRON continues to intensify its actions in the border region between Brazil and Bolivia, with a focus on combating smuggling, drug trafficking and other cross-border crimes.
