Federal Revenue seizes almost R$ 4 million in counterfeit products in Fortaleza

Agency inspected clothing, toy and cell phone accessory stores.

 

Operation Vanitas, of the Federal Revenue, seized this Wednesday (1) almost R$ 4 million in counterfeit goods in Fortaleza. The balance of the operation was presented this Thursday morning (2) by the organ. One of the places inspected was the Fashion Center, in the Jacarecanga district. Among the products are clothes, toys and cell phone accessories.

 

According to the Federal Revenue, the first stage of the operation took place in the morning at five stores downtown. The targets were stores establishments that resell smartphone accessories and other counterfeit products, popularly known as “pirates”.

 

“The result of the morning operation (toys and cell phone accessories) retained 277 volumes, with an estimated value of R$ 800,000.00”, informed the Federal Revenue.

 

In the afternoon, the second and last stage of the operation reached 10 stores that sold counterfeit famous brand clothing. In all, the Revenue retained 147 volumes, with an estimated value of R$ 3 million.

“The retained products originate from manufactures not authorized by the owners of the brands. However, if the legitimacy of any merchandise is proven, they will be returned to the storekeeper, if not, the penalty of forfeiture will be given,” he pondered.

 

The action was carried out in partnership with the Military Police of Fortaleza and the Special Operations Group (GOE), from the Municipal Guard of Fortaleza.
