Thousands of counterfeit products are seized in Caruaru and Santa Cruz do Capibaribe
The team of the Police Station for the Crimes Against Immaterial Property / DEPRIM PE under the direction of Dr. Germano Cunha Bezerra, Chief of The Police Station, and who has performed a consistent and efficient job for the last years, carries out another phase of the Operation Agreste Limpo.
Thousands of counterfeit shoes, clothing and accessories were seized this Wednesday at Caruaru Feira dos Calçados, on the fourth phase of the Operation Agreste Limpo. On Tuesday, the Civil Police of Pernambuco had already seized thousands of fake products in stores in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe.
Branches of the stores Moda Center were a target of the operation on Tuesday when they seized t-shirts, shorts, and hats. In Caruaru three stores and five warehouses were inspected by the Police, who also found t-shirts, shorts, hats, bags, belts and shoes in three other stores at the Polo de Confecções.
The owners who are responsible for the stores will be charged with crimes against Intellectual Property, fraud in trade, receiving stolen goods, and crime against the consumer.
On the first phase of the operation, also in Caruaru, more than 11 thousand products were seized in 10 stores. The second phase was in Bezerros and almost 30 thousand products were seized with 8 owners. On the last two phases of the operation in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe and in Caruaru 15 and seven business man were involved, respectively.
